About Dr. Flynn

Personalized Foot & Ankle Care, Rooted in Compassion & Community

Dr. Jim Flynn believes great care begins with understanding the person, not just the problem. A board-certified orthopedic surgeon with specialized fellowship training in foot and ankle surgery, Dr. Flynn treats each patient with the attention, empathy and clinical precision he would offer his own family. From Achilles tendon ruptures to ankle arthritis, his goal is to restore function and confidence, tailoring every treatment plan to how your condition affects your daily life, work and goals.

He brings both advanced surgical training and a patient-centered approach to each appointment, combining evidence-based medicine with personal connection.

A South Bend Story

Dr. Flynn graduated from Notre Dame in 2003 and spent the following year volunteering full-time at the Sister Maura Brannick Health Center, a formative experience that solidified his calling to medicine.

He went on to earn his medical degree at Rutgers-New Jersey Medical School, completed residency at Penn State, and pursued specialized foot and ankle fellowship training under Dr. Steve Conti at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center.

In 2014, Dr. Flynn returned to South Bend to serve the community that gave him so much. Today, he’s raising his four children with his wife, Courtney, and cheering on the Irish every chance he gets.
